13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
I took this image almost an year ago, at Christmas time in Rome. This is the time when the shops' windows start to live of a new life.
Lights and decorations are placed all over the city. I love the juxtaposition of this festive time and the immobility of the eternal city.
This old man was looking at a window, maybe wondering what to buy, but What? For whom? and when? All those questions made me press the shutter to keep wondering.
