13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
My friend Terri Sue and I were standing in her kitchen talking about her elderly friend who had passed years ago, and a breeze blew through the window suddenly, on a still evening. I had been shooting while we talked, to capture the quality of early evening light, and the Madonna statue on her counter, and happened to catch the expression on her face at that moment.
