Portrait of Ainslie

I often feel that a photo of someone's hands is a more accurate portrait of who they are as a person than an image of their face. These are my best friend's hands, mid-wash during an afternoon of bread baking. In the midst of moving out of her first home as an adult, baking seemed a good way to remind ourselves that home is made from the traditions you keep and the parts of yourself that you carry with wherever you end up.
