Mpanjakavavy

The Mpanjakavavy (Queen) of Nosy Mamoko exudes a very powerful spirit that is well suited to guide, provide for, and protect her people. We brought her a few gifts on our first visit to the island and were granted permission to stay at anchor. I felt an immediate connection although I could only speak with her in my very broken French when The Captain was not available to translate. Still, I felt it was premature to take her picture.
