Morning Trip to the Farmers Market via Bicycle

In an early morning visit to Dien Bien Phu's local market, we crossed a 100-year-old wooden bridge. I loved this shot because it captured Vietnam in a moment -- the lady on a bicycle, her shopping in her basket, her hat, and that wooden bridge. Shrouded in the early morning mist and fog, it encapsulated my image of old Vietnam, outside the big cities, where life still takes place at a slower, more leisurely pace.
