Palestinian children cool off in a makeshift plastic pool in the yard of the ruins of their family house which was destroyed in the last summer's Israel-Hamas war, in Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip on August 5, 2015. The temperature reached 36 degrees Celsius (97F), and chronic electricity and water cuts in conflict-ridden countries make heat waves like the present one even more unbearable particularly for the more than 1.4 million people displaced by violence across the region.
