Laura and her Daughter

This is a photo of Laura, exhausted after walking for days from Honduras carrying her daughter. According to Amnesty International, as many as 80% of female refugees are at risk of experiencing an assault during the migration process. Shelters in Mexico have released figures indicating that over half of the refugees are women and girls. Many of them travel together for safety.
