Huaorani Building his Hut

The Huaorani tribe inhabit some territory of the Ecuadorian amazonian jungle. In the past decades they have been more integrate to western society and culture. This fact has made them turn their nomad tradition into a more settled society structure. This photograph shows an effort of one of the members of the tribe to keep their tradition alive building a new hut for his mother. Palm leaves, carefully assembled between a wooden structure, are used to construct the roof.
