Forced migration with disability

In the summer of 2017, I visited Abu Salih’s home in Onder neighborhood in Ankara. This neighborhood is undergoing the process of urbanization, everywhere you go you can see the demolished houses. Abu Salih lost his eldest son in Syria’s civil war. His deceased son has two sons, 7 years old Marvan and 6 years old Abed. Their mother didn’t want bring them with her when she got married again. Abu Salih and his wife has two more sons and a married daughter. The whole family all fled to Ankara from Aleppo in 2012. He was told that the capital city Ankara is cheaper to live compared to Istanbul, and Ankara has good hospitals. Abu Salih can’t walk. He has a muscle atrophy illness. He showed us his wheelchair which was given to him by Red Crescent.
