DONDI

The ritual that we are about to touch on is called Dondi. This is a Hindu ritual which takes place every year during the Shitala puja in Kalighat area at Kolkata. The devotee gets laid down on bare road through a long distance to reach the temple shrine and they believe that their prayers will be heard. Woman crosses over the baby to move forward.
