13th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
Celebration for the new library.

Visiting my daughter for 5 weeks in the village where she is a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa, I became the de facto village photographer. I brought about 1,000 French and English books to open a library (even though almost everyone speaks Ewe and illiteracy is nearly 100%) This is part of the celebration.
