Bitter days of autumn

She was living in the suburbs of Kermanshah (Dehdjami village, Dalahoo, Kermanshah), at the Iranian Red Crescent Society Camp. She was there with her female family members, like so many other displaced persons who had been a victim of Iran-Iraq earthquake. A deeply resigned lassitude filled her face, with its lost and sorrowful gaze, and permeated every one of her gestures. This woman's son has been killed in the Iran-Iraq earthquake and she is mourning for her loss. The earthquake caused the death of nearly 1000 people who perished in the rubble of buildings built in a rush and with inappropriate building materials.
