13th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
Taken while photographing a dress for sale in my Etsy shop. This one really stood out to me! It was taken a few days before Beltane and everything just fell into place. I loved the dramatic, almost stage-like spotlight that is hitting her face and platinum hair, and the tree behind her. She really looks as if she is fleeing from a pursuer. And that subtle flash of red panties makes it just a wee bit naughty, without being trashy...but can also be cropped out, if it is too sexually explicit for Smithsonian..? I personally thought it added something to the composition, though, and didn't cross any boundaries (nothing to see that one wouldn't see in a swimsuit magazine), so I left it in.
