Banana plantation harvest
A woman surveys a bunch of bananas for any impurities. As part of our study abroad about food security, we visited a banana plantation where the bananas were harvested and transported on a track and pulled. There were people who were paid to weigh, wash, put stickers on, and box the bananas which were shipped all over the world. Bananas are actually grown on a plant and not a tree, and are at risk of disease because they all stem from the same parent banana.
