A Brother's Love
Being asked to be a part of something that commemorates the Fallen Hero's that have come before us, could quite possibly be one of the greatest honors that one could ever have. For CSM Martin Mieras Jr., this honor did not come lightly. While stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, CSM Mieras made the ten hour drive to Twinsburg, Ohio in order to honor those who have fallen these soldiers and speak so humbly on the behalf of him and so many, the appreciation we have for our Fallen Hero's. The drive and time off means nothing to CSM Mieras, for if you ask him, he will tell you that it is the least he could do for his soldiers. While serving his 34 years in the service he has lost four of his brothers, one that happened to die even in his arms. His life has never been the same since, nor will it ever will be. While at the traveling Vietnam Wall, there was another wall that honored the soldiers that had fallen in the Afghanistan and the war in Iraq. It was there, CSM Mieras found his fallen brothers. This picture captures his humbleness, his hurt, his pain, and love that everyday he feels for his lost brothers.
