13th Annual Photo Contest
Wild Mustangs of Corolla, North Carolina, USA

THe Wild Horses of Corolla still survive despite humans encroaching on their space. They live near the ocean on a small northern part of the Outer Banks. People have decided to build large homes in the area that are only accessible by 4WDs -- it's not very hospitable for humans -- but nevertheless -- there are homes. The horses walk through the property and are tolerant of humans invading their territory. Beautiful animals...and luckily there is a non-profit that helps them survive.
