Weathering the Storm

A family of Japanese macaques huddles together to stay warm during a snow storm in Yamanouchi, Japan. These macaques are the nothernmost non-human primates and congregate near hot springs in attempt to bathe and warm up. Family groups are thought to exhibit dominance over each other by disallowing entrance to the hot springs for "inferior" monkeys.
