Melting snow cascades over rocks below Copeland Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Going with the Flow - record ice in the rockies feeds Boulder Falls, in Colorado, from which this water cascades.
Small dragonfly lands on a seemingly normal stick only to find the water very hot and becomes incapacitated the calcified in travertine pool. This is like a moment of life frozen (or boiled) in time.
A flying seed pod evidently landed itself into hot water - a travertine pool - and became calcified. This shot was taken at the pools near Mammoth at Yellowstone National Park.
This baby Tree Swallow was nesting in a cavity of a dead tree on the edges of a field of Yellowstone geysers and mudholes. Minutes later a parent was feeding the chick.

Top of the Falls- 
While the numbers are on the side of the salmon, we saw many meet this fate at Brooks Falls.
Out of the Ashes - All around us, in Yellowstone Park were these signs of volcanic activity and hot, hot water. Yet out of the gray, ashy travertine these colorful flowers (bluebells et al) bloom.
