Toddler Rhino with Mud Adornment

This rhinoceros calve was born at the wild animal park near San Diego, CA, which is part of the San Diego Zoo system. Although these rhinos are wild and not caged, they are fairly docile by nature, contrary to many popular beliefs. This calve stays close to his mom most of the time, although we also saw him chasing a young giraffe for fun.
