Time Guardian

The Bristlecone pines are one of the oldest living things on the planet and visiting one of their homes the White Mountains is truely amazing experience. It is hard to imagine the changes in the landscape over a period of 3,000 plus years this tree has been standing in the same position. Tried to make this photograph all about the twisted gnarled shape of this amazing tree and the area it has been looking over for more than 3,000 years, truely the guardians of time.
