The Ying and Yang of Follow the Leader
The oryx climbs the steep sand dunes of the Namib Desert to catch the cool, moist breezes blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean, some 20 kilometers away. As we approached, one oryx chose to fun down the side of the dune that was in shade. These oryx do this in the heat of each day as the air if vital to cool the blood going to the brain and the moisture is may be the only water they receive for the day.
