14th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
The sun sets upon a deer skull in the Long Island Sound.
I believe this photo represents the beauty of natures life cycle. A sustainable travel project to me would be one where we leave nature the way we found it. Using more primitive techniques rather than modern tools to get around. Instead of traveling by car, plane or cruz, in a happy world we would travel by foot, horse, bike, or sailboat. Catching our food along the way with nothing but a small back pack. We need to learn to respect the natural order of life and only help flourish the earth, rather than drain it from its resources .
