The Look of Love

The custodians of Bhutanese streets are Dogs, Citizens of the First Order. . Buddhism propounds that all sentient entities should be cared for. Thus, gangs of an average 7-8 stray dogs serve as community pets of each block, fed by its residents. In Thimphu, a handsome doggo broke away from its team and followed me across the road. When I turned around to call out, it headed in my direction sheepishly. As I stretched out my hand for some petting, I was greeted by this Look of Absolute Love. I surrendered, completely.
