The Ancient Way

East of the Sierra Nevada Range in California are the White Mountains. Above 10,000 ft., some of the oldest living trees on earth can be found. These are ancient bristle cone pines. The two trees presented here are both over 4,000 years old. I waited until 2:00 am in freezing conditions for the Milky Way to rise behind these magnificent, ancient trees to capture, what I think is a timeless image.
