Sunset Over Diamond Head
Although kind of difficult to recognize, the horizon of this photograph is showing the ocean behind the rigid top of Diamond Head crater. Diamond Head crater is a major landmark for the island of O'ahu. The crater got its name when the earliest European settlers began mining for what they thought were diamonds but later realized the rocks were actually quartz. Many say that Diamond Head radiates healing energy. I think the rainbow spectrum from the sunset over Diamond Head makes the crater seem as though it is glowing.
