Sunbittern and chick

I drove from San José where I live to try to find this bird as a friend alerted me of its presence in a near by river close to his house. I´ve seen this bird several times before but never saw it on its nest and I got a bit curious. Light can get very harsh in Costa Rica withing seconds so I did not hesitate to leave early to try to capture the image in the first morning light. I arrived to the area where the bird had been seen and after looking around for a few minutes I noticed the presence of this beautiful bird just arriving with food to the nest, it was pretty quick and soon one of the chicks received his share of the meal where the other was a bit sleepy. I positioned myself so that the background would be in shadows and still the natural light was not working for me so I decided to use a little bit of fill flash just to get more details in the dark feathers of the baby. Afters spending 10 minutes with these birds I had enough images and left them so I would not interefere with my presence.
