15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
Strokkur Geysir is a fountain geyser located in a geothermal hotspot beside the Hvítá River in southwest Iceland. It erupts roughly every 10 minutes and can send boiling-hot water shooting up to forty metres into the air.
