15th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
I can’t figure out our obsession with photographing moving things as still. By manipulating my telescope manually rather than electrically tracking, I can create slow erratic patterns with starlight, in this case, that is the star Sirius. I find it to be pretty interesting. In theory it is the simplest thing to make, but every little blotch of light is a star, and by thinking of counter sidereel movement, it makes the universe seem a little more erratic and full.
