Snow Submerged Greenland Dog

I was on an extreme expedition with my brother and daughter in East Greenland; where our mission was to document the natural history - with dogs-sleds as our only means of transport. We joined two locals of the village Ittoqqortoormiit on their hunting journey to Jameson Land. This shot was our second day in the field when we were hit with a big three day long blizzard in Hurry Fjord. This one Greenland Dog was completely covered by the snow, sleeping, beneath while a three day snow storm with 30m per second wind took place. In these low temperatures, snowdrifts form a windproof crust around their dense, double fur coats. All one could see to identify the dogs were small mounds of snow with a few hairs sticking out through the icy surface.
