Smiling Silverback

Payment from tourists help buy roofs for houses, schools, and shoes for Rwandan citizens. Tourism helps protect the habitat of the animals being visited. Trackers keep track of primate groups and use radios to help the tourist's guides come quickly to the primates each day. This family patriarch was sitting quietly after eating his fill of bamboo starts. The family is habituated to humans so it was just a matter of respectfully approaching, avoiding eye contact, and shooting.
