Sky Hawks

In the North Pennines, east of Newcastle, UK, I was trying to get a long distance telephoto shot of the snow peaks. Raising my head from the viewfinder for a moment, I realised a hawk was hovering directly above me. My sudden movements as I tried to release my camera from the tripod made it move away. Crestfallen, I widened out from my original shot just as its mate appeared and kindly hovered just ahead of me. Click.
