Rising mist from a broken tree

This is a photograph of Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Taken in early morning, the mist is still quite heavy, and is beginning to rise. From what I could see, the tree had been struck by lightning. The mist just happened to appear to be rising right out of the hollow of the tree, as if it was the very life of the tree.
