Rhesus Macaques, Jhakoo Mandir, Shimla

In and around Jhakoo Mandir are chief populations of Rhesus Macaques (Macaca mulatta). As such being a unique temple, it is devoted to the Hindu Monkey God Hanuman. It is quite interesting to note how well the monkeys have moved in, stealing and eating prasad (temple offerings of holy food). It is fascinating to observe them closely.
