Reddish Egret

While visiting the beach I saw this unusual looking heron or egret that I have not seen before. I was happy to be able to spend a couple hours following it around the beach and photographing it. Upon reading up on the Reddish Egret, I found out that there may only be a few thousand of them in the United States. They are a protected bird.
