Red Diamond Rattlesnake shares the trail near San Diego California

This handsome Red Diamond Rattlesnake (Crotalus ruber) asserted itself on a coastal sage hiking trail in San Diego, California. We surprised each other when I rounded a bend on the trail, and then continued on our separate ways after taking a photo.
