Racing Stripes

This plains zebra (Equus quagga) was running with a herd. In spite of the bright African sun I used a slow shutter speed to convey the speed of its flight, and this also had the effect of creating a motion blurred striped background, juxtaposed against the zebra's own racing stripes. The plains zebra is listed on the IUCN Red List of threatened species.
