Painted Lady and the M&M

This fall a mass migration of Painted Lady butterflies passed through the Colorado Front Range. This photo was captured outside of the school where I teach. While hundreds of Painted Ladies were feasting on nearby blooming Rabbit Bushes, This Painted Lady was taking advantage of an discarded M&M on the sidewalk.
