Northern Flicker along the DownEast Coast of Maine

This Northern Yellow Shafted Flicker was taking off following a rival face off with another male. During the early summer on the bold coast of Maine we have a fair population of this woodpecker migrate to the area. This particular male was photographed on our coastal property Easter Sunday.
