Morning Fog Liftoff

My sister and I were in a blind at the Crane Trust near Alda, NE. The sandhill cranes had gathered on the Platte River sandbars overnight. As the sun rose we heard them chattering to one another and then saw their shadowy forms in the morning fog. Eventually, one by one or in groups they flew off to feed in the nearby fields.
