12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
Mobula Rays feeding at night

The light coming from above the Mobulas gives this frame a divine aspect, as if the light was coming down from the heavens, ironic since these animals are sometimes mistakenly called "Devil rays". This also brings into focus the tiny plankton that they are feeding on.
