Lava Flow from East Rift of Kilauea Volcano, May 2018

Kilauea’s eruptions in 2018 produced dramatic images and damaged property. Here, the volcano spurts lava hundreds of feet into the air from a crack along its East Rift. White steam rises where lava flows into the Pacific Ocean, 4 miles away.
