15th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
We first spotted this leopard on the rocks, surveying the land. But as the sun lowered over the horizon, she climbed down from the rocks, walked right in front of our car, and climbed a nearby tree, relaxed but alert. She stayed there for almost an hour, but just before we had to leave for camp, she stood up on one of the branches, looked around, jumped down and disappeared into the bushes.
