Adult lemon sharks (Negaprion brevirostris) venture into the shallow waters of Bimini, Bahamas each year to give birth usually in the month of May and I am out daily in the shallows waiting for the neonatal babies to arrive. It’s always such a special moment the day I walk out to see them for the first time that year. The image Just Born is of a newborn I’m confident was only born that day due to my regular trips to the known location. This beautiful little shark was swimming like a giant tadpole and I could see how ‘fresh’ it was by its movement and naive behavior.
