Is Anybody Out There?

This single 20-second exposure captures our impressively distinct planetary neighbor, Mars, near its closest approach to Earth juxtaposed with our home galaxy, the Milky Way. With such an impressive scene on display, it is hard to imagine we are all alone to ponder the almost limitless and timeless beauty of our universe.
