Great Egret catches a fish

I found several Great Egrets hunting for anchovies in Elkhorn Slough on the Monterey bay. I keyed on this one who was hunting a ways away from the others because I could isolate him and because the light was incredible. Just as he snatched an anchovy from the water, he lifted his wings for one incredible moment.
