The Sandhills of western Nebraska lay on top of one of the world's largest natural water stores, the Ogallala Aquifer. This sub-terrestrial water source is the life blood of the Great Plains. The precious water resource is used for a wide array of agricultural purposes. Here, a cattle stock tank is supplied with a constant fresh source of water through a windmill pump.
