The Sadu Man
15th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
Freedom Denied

This is the tiny little hand of a Philippine long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis philippensis) This little monkey is small and skinny. I can see the sadness in his eyes. I felt like he wanted me to help him get out of his cage. I really want to set him free if only I could. My heart ached. I asked the zookeeper and he said that they needed help to feed their animals. They are running out of money for the zoo maintenance. Me and my wife donated money for the zoo maintenance and food for the animals.
