Forest Floor

As we drove through the forest, noticing all of the fallen trees, I couldn't help but think about how sustainable the forest is. The wildlife, insects, and decaying trees have fed the forests for centuries and it continues to strive and survive so long as us humans allow it to be. It takes a good decade or so for large trees to decompose and this particular fallen giant was already halfway decayed. The image of this tree coupled with these thoughts brought a very calming energy that puts our world and how we choose to live as a society into perspective.
