Flying With Eagles
Myself and a friend magically stumbled across ~30 eagle rays (Aetobatus narinari) in less than 30ft of water. The rays past us several times allowing us to free dive with them, almost accepting us as part of their fever. These rays are known for their shy, yet curious personalities and on this special dive we were able to engage their curiosity enough to capture some rare images of over 28 rays flying together. As free divers the lack of bubbles and disturbance in the water meant we gained their trust, they accepted our presence and allowed us close enough to become part of their world and group, if only for a moment.
