Flower Beetle

The scientific name ’’Coilodera kalimantanica’’ Coilodera is a genus of beetles belonging to the family Scarabaeidae, subfamily Cetoniinae. Flower Beetles (Cetoniinae subfamily) is a group of scarab beetles that typically feed as adults on flowers of various plants. Many of the species are very beautifully colored. Although there are a few interesting species in this subfamily found in the New World, the vast majority of the large and colorful species are found in Africa and the Indo-Australian regions and West Malaysia. Kaoru Sakai estimates that there are about 3,200 known species of flower beetles.
